Natwest blocking access to account

What kind of business does she work for ?Just wondered why they paid 2 months salary. Is it a work from home business ?0

It is a bit difficult to understand why, if the Natwest account was closed after the first month's wages were paid, that steps weren't taken to have the second month's wages paid elsewhere (assuming that chronology is accurate). They paid month 1 into the account and then they paid month 2 in about a month later. It's not that difficult to understand?"In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -

Account was opened on 30/01/2018
Salary paid in 31/01/2018
Next salary paid in 28-ish Feb.
Two months of salary paid in?
It's a stretch but i'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.0 -

Seems you're making stuff up that doesn't fit the OP at all.
OP was 21 November and they said '...review process which has been going on for several weeks to date.'.
So no evidence that this has been ongoing since 10 months ago.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
The issue isn't really about giving them the benefit of the doubt (or not), it is about understanding how the account has been managed to date that might give some clues to enable the OP to be helped.Account was opened on 30/01/2018

The two month's wages point is important, because for the OP's granddaughter to still have two month's of wages in the account it implies they spent nothing for a whole month, or else had a substantial amount of money to deposit in the account to start with. (assuming non-negligible outgoings)
That in turn raises questions about source of funds and/or other sources of income.
I imagine there are few 16 year olds who go a whole month without spending any of their wages, and if their financial circumstances did permit this (e.g. other savings) then why has lack of access to the money in the NatWest account now become a problem?
I'm not suggesting there is anything the OP's granddaughter has done wrong... just pointing out Tallaght's question was a valid one and could potentially lead to the OP getting to the bottom of the story."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
At 16 years old she will still be in education so is she working weekends/evenings for a local business?
They may be the source of the problem but your grand daughter's account has been caught up in it.0 -
It depends, I suppose, on whether the account is under review generally or whether the source of funds itself is being questioned. It isn't unusual for essential and verifiable payments such as wages, pension or benefits to be accessible while the rest of the account remains restricted - but that is probably at the reasonable discretion of the bank, and may be offset against other transactions.: )0
