Car finance is not helping me at all regarding faulty vehicle
Hi,
I have been having issues with my car which was bought from Cargiant. I have reported the issues before it was 6 months and since then i took my car back twice for repair. Now i took it again yesterday and told them i want to hand this car back in as i am refusing to keep it due to the issues its causing me. Since i got it engine sounded bad and didn't feel healthy so they did 'Engine rebuild' now it's having more issues and gearbox is causing me issues too. I told my Finance company whom is Barclays several times that 'I want to reject this car, as it's faulty' They are telling to contact Cargiant and that's all. They don't seem to want to get involved!
It keeps going back and forth, Cargiant keeps telling me that the finance company has to contact them. But the finance company refusing to contact the Dealership (CarGiant). I have had the car for 11 Months now. I am very frustrated and lost on what to do.
Just to add, i did also send a rejection letter to Cargiant and got their reply. They've refused my rejection. No one is helping me and i feel very confused, as this is my first car finance.
any help would be appreciated.

You should of sent them a rejection letter after the first failed repair attempt and parked the car in their yard.
What is the issue with the gearbox and, when did you formally notify them of the fault and has the original fault been sorted?0 -
You mention lots of "issues", but are they actual faults that mean that the car is not fit for purpose? Or are you just expecting too much?
If you think the car is not fit for purpose, then having got the response from the finance company, you could go to the financial ombudsman.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
