Parking machine issued badly printed ticket

Ticket was bought for a private car park in Scotland, had to enter the car registration number. The ticket produced was barely printed so unsure if I put in the correct registration. But it does have a printed ticket number on it, so I would have thought they should know when the ticket was issued and the reg number. Did not overstay my time.
Anyway, received a letter from Parkingeye. Scanned in the ticket and appealed, but this has been rejected as 'Our records confirm that no parking was purchased on the date of the parking event.'
Unsure on the next steps.

Ignore them as it's Scotland, but keep all the paperwork & PDT for 5 years just in case.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
