Hello there, just after some advice.
Ive had an on going issue with scottish power, i changed poviders to utilita at the end of 2016 i then had a final bill letter from scottish power, i contacted them over and over and they keps saying i owe the money, in the end i said id contact citizens advice first then they said it was a mistake and that woukd be the last i hear about it. Low and behold they slapped a default on my credit file in june 2017, again phone call after phone call and im still tring to have it removed, for 17 months phone calls and emails and complaints.. they dont seem to care, i cant get anything on credit. i just keep getting messed around, ive wrote a letter of complaint to them, anyone had this trouble with them? How do i resolve this situation? Its starting to get to me now.

Make a written complaint stating the facts and your desired resolution. If/when they reject your complaint (or after 8 weeks if they don't respond) then you can escalate it to the appropriate ombudsman service - I'm not quite sure who would be best, the FOS or the Energy Ombudsman.0

Why did you not pay the final bill then?0
-
I did not owe them then money they said, apperantly i want paying the electric bill for what i used yet i was on a pre paid meter. I phoned them several times and explained in the end they said it was an error, when i topped up the money was going else where and once they got it back from them then it would be all sorted.0

So has it been “sorted”?
If not raise a complaint per the process already mentioned above0 -
No 17 months and still not sorted, ive put 2 complaints in and desputed the debt twice on my credit file witch i just get an email a week or 2 later say8ng the creditor has nit authorized to remove it or the have not replyed in the 28 day time laps0

Who have you out the complaints into?
The CRA’s won’t remove it without the go ahead from Scottish Power.
You need to contact them directly.
If you’ve already done so then raise a complaint with the FOS0 -
I have put 2 complaints to scottish power over the phone and a written complaint sent to them, its been 17 months already and its still on my credit file, i dont understand how it takes this long to remove something that was placed against me in an error. I will get hold of the ombudsmen. Thats for the replys0
