Record PIP assessment

After reading accounts how assessor reports are not always accurate, I think recording an assessment could be a good idea. I see there are rules about informing them, taking two recorders etc but what would be the consequence of just recording it on your phone? Has anyone ever used a recording to prove their assessor lied?

Any recording you did would be dismissed as not following protocol.

If you're caught doing this, your assessment will be stopped, your file returned to DWP and most likely you'll be refused that benefit. Not worth it, in my opinion. If you want to record it get permission. My advice though is to concentrate on your evidence that proves how your conditions affect you.

Firstly, remember that although there are horror stories, the majority of assessments are fine, and don't involve lies. People only take to social media when there's a problem.

You need to either do the recording by the rules, or not at all.

Yes, I did it. It didn't help and at Tribunal they sent some jumped up suit from the DWP to ensure my recording was not used! Best to go down the legal route with two tape recorders.

I'm not sure why you would think it could have been used, you chose to record in secret. Get permission, if you have to record something, it's the only way.
