DRP - Unpaid Parking Notice - I Phoned DRP

HI MSE,

I received a 'demand for payment' from DRP last week.
The orginal PPC(highview) issued 3 separate PCN each of £50 if paid within 14 days. However, a couple years ago i changed address and forgot to update V5/notify DVLA. So parking charges were sent to old address. Hence they have increased in value. I obviously has no idea I was getting these charges sent through. Last week I received a letter through from Debt recovery plus demanding payment - now standing at £450 for the 3 charges. Now i have read the newbies thread regarding ignoring DRP and not phoning them. However, I naively phoned them to appeal/refuse pay. The short conversation basically came o a stand still with me refusing to pay and DRP operator saying a had no option but to pay. My question is, should i still ignore them even after phoning DRP. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For goodness sake .. stop phoning scammers
DRP are simply idiotic debt collectors and are trained to speak rubbish ...... "no option but to pay" HAHAHA --- IDIOTS

They will have added their own scam £££ so you cannot be dealing with money scammers WHO ARE 100% POWERLESS

Debt Collectors (DRP & ZZPS & Zenith)
What they don't want you to know

Never ever phone a debt collector or a PPC. This is very likely to get to court, so you need a paper trail.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week, hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. It has even been suggested that some of these companies have links with organised crime.

Watch the video of the Second Reading and committee stage in the House of Commons recently. MPs have a very low opinion of this industry.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by in the not too distant future.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • I realise i shouldn't have phoned DRP, my question is now regarding any advice that could be given from this point forward. Should I still follow the advice of ignoring all future correspondence, or is their recommended action i should take? Thankyou

    IGNORE DRP

Just wait now and if you receive more DRP letters just treat them as a joke .... that's all they are.

If you hear from Highview again, come back here

You will already know (we hope) from reading other Highview threads that they are tame.

No idea why anyone takes DRP seriously and picks up the phone to TALK to such scum, instead of just Googling first (not to read their own website!). When you get a letter demanding lots of money, DO NOT phone the sender. Google the sender and read recent forum postings!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
