Getting Foreign Currency on Clarity Card

I'd be interested to lean if DCC is prevalent in Australia. Visited Singapore last month, what a pleasant surprise that was. Clarity Mastercard was accepted everywhere. Over 50 transactions, never once asked by the merchant (restaurants, cabs, shops, ...) whether I wanted to pay in non-Sing Dollars. Not a single DCC encounter or attempted scam.
(Using Halifax Clarity)
We are in Australia now and not had a problem so far. Contactless up to AUD50 seems the norm here so usually just tap and go. Seem to have to ask for the receipt though otherwise they throw it out or don't print one at all. Singapore was the same.0 -
If you are a regular traveller to Spain (including the Balearics) and/or Canaries then a Santander current account is worth considering as there are no fees for using the debit card at any Santander branded ATM to withdraw currency - which are common there. That benefit doesn't apply if you use it at another bank's hole in the wall of course.Does MSE have any advice on which ATMs are still free in Spain and other popular destinations as this rather overrides decisions on which are the best credit cards for foreign cash withdrawls?
The Santander Everday current account would tick those boxes for you.
