Driver received PCN for 1 tyre on kerb
Kelmu80
Hi all - someone driving my car, parked in a retail outlet car park and had a PCN issued by UKPC as 1 tyre was on the kerb. The pcn describes the breach as ‘vehicle parked on a verge’. The vehicle wasn’t blocking a path or pavement. Do I have a chance if I appeal? Should I write a letter to appeal or just ignore?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

You appear to have missed the TEMPLATE appeal in the thread called NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST.
We can tell, because you are talking about 'writing a letter' or ignoring, and you don't seem to know about the ''day 26 appeal'' tactic.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If they were to take this to court they might struggle. Many judges regard these over the line claims as a trifle, and the Law does not concern itself with trifles.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_minimis
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week, hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. It has even been suggested that some of these companies have links with organised crime.
Watch the video of the Second Reading and committee stage in the House of Commons recently. MPs have a very low opinion of this industry.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by in the not too distant future..You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Thanks - I did read through the newbies page but it wouldn’t let me click the link on the template. Will try again.0

But there is no click on the template. It's typed out in full for you to copy.
We also know you have not read the first post of the sticky because you don't know about waiting till day 26, and why (and we won't explain it on individual threads due to time constraints).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

There is no link on or in the template. The link before it tells you why not to name the driver.
In addition, some of the wording in the NEWBIES is just blue text, not hyperlinks.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Thanks all. May have been trying to click a link on another site. Did see the 26 day thing as well. Just frustrated as it’s the drivers 4th ticket this year! Tempted to spend the money, if saved, on getting them a lesson in ‘how to park’ for Christmas. Will reread. Thanks for taking the time to respond.0

The appellant WILL WIN if the 26 day tactic works and makes UKPC forget to issue a NTK.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
