Missed appeal deadline. What now?

We were served an unfair PCN by post but unfortunately the letter was mislaid under a pile of post. We've now found it and have missed the appeal deadline. Is there anything I can do?

Appeal anyway using the template from post 1 of the NEWBIES. You have nothing to lose.

What you certainly do not do is pay the scammers! Which PPC?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
