First Direct Bose Headphones Problems

Looks like First Direct have just pulled the plug on the Bose Headphones - aka £179.99 as part of bank account switching offer.

The third party providing the Bose headphones has had their contract torn up due to new customers receiving faulty devices or ones that work for 2 weeks.

I joined First Direct because of this offer and I am sure 1000s did the same. The lady on the phone at FD was very helpful and looks like its going to kick off. 1000s of unhappy customers im sure will be reporting their complaints soon on here:(

  • First Direct took so long switching that I now finally have my code for the free gift and the BOSE headphones are no longer listed...I don't want anything else...

My headphones have not arrived (now over 30 days). I rang up today, I was told I should have received an email. I replied that I had not had one, just like many others on various review boards. The lady on the phone put me on hold, she then came back and said I would now receive a different gift.
The replacement gift would now be a set of Sennheiser headphones.

I told her I don't want a set of Seinnheiser and that I want Bose ones. She said I don't blame you, then asked if I wanted to make a complaint. I said yes I would like to make a complaint and I was told that I will be contacted within the next four days.

My angle is going to be, if you cannot provide the Bose headphones, give me the price of a set and I will go to Currys and buy them myself.
  • Let us know what happens - im surprised more peoples havent complained yet.

You should look at the terms of the offer - I bet they included a substitution clause.
And I bet you didn't read the terms before you signed up.

Now received an email saying the BOSE headphones will be delivered on the 23rd Novemeber.
  • They've done it with the Bose bluetooth speaker too. I had an e-mail with the alternative gift but the value is not the same (unless you include a £40 leather cover!!!).
Mine should have arrived today at the latest according to the e-mail - but surprise, surprise, it hasn't.

These gifts are a waste of time, most of it I don't want, give me money to switch everytime.

If M&S had money to switch I'd open an account, most of their store stuff I can never find anything I like or it's overpriced.

Gimmicks like this were never worth switching for, unless it's a cash sum the general rule of thumb is don't bother.

Yes I certainly agree with that thought.

I used my M&S gift card money to buy food. Most of it was only slightly more expensive than elsewhere (like meat 3 for £10 or the £10 meal deal) Plus of course it was free money,so free food.
I still have the a/c- with access to their 5% RS

Now it doesn't want to post my comments! !
