Wrongful missed payment recorded

Hi,

My husband has a late payment recorded on his file recently. It was for catalogue account, which is his account. The min payment was £5 and he paid £129 but they recorded it as a late pay by Very. Confused we rang them and asked what was going on, it was July/Aug and shows differently on different credit reports.

Long story short Very can’t find it and have no idea what we are talking about and have agreed to remove it. So they clearly can see it but can’t find the late payment. How long will this take to be removed? I disputed it with the credit agencies (also disputed electoral roll data too as he has been registered for over a year)

Very should be able to tell you when they update the credit agencies they use.

The agencies use data from lenders so all depends how long very take to update / correct.
  • Changes to credit reports typically take 4-8 weeks to filter through - it its been longer then that you might want to get in touch again to push them to speed it up a bit.
  • Thankyou for your replies. I will wait until our credit reports next update then contact them again if still visible. We are currently applying for a mortgage and have passed credit checks etc so hoping this won’t mess anything up. Even though it clearly shows payments was made that month just marked as late.

Is it possible he paid it too early, and Very have taken it as another payment for the previous month, and then have no record of a payment for the following month?

Not uncommon with Credit Cards when over zealous customers make a payment before the bill arrives.
