Parking Charge Help

Hi Everyone,

I was issued a Parking charge notice (£100 but reduce to £60 if paid within 14 days) by UKPC. I appealed on 3rd Oct and received an email confirmation. Since then, I didn't hear from them.

But last week, I received a letter dated 13th Nov from Debit collector DRP for £160. I called DRP straight away and asked why they didn't follow the procedure. But they said UKPC rejected my appeal on 4th Oct and sent the email to my same hotmail. They said the email could be in my spam folder. But unfortunately, Hotmail only save Spam for 30 days! Now, I don't even know whether they had sent the email!

Do they have the right not to contact me by post? They also said I have only options to pay or waiting them take me to the court. If I do go to court for the £160 and I lost, will that affect my Credit rating?

Thank you very much for your help!

Al

Losing in court affects nothing. Losing in court and not paying within the prescribed timescales will likely get you a CCJ which will affect credit. You are not at that stage yet, and in any case most people win in court when properly defended using the help you will get on here.

You should never ever 'phone a parking scammer, and never ever contact a debt crawler by any means at all as they are powerless.

Did you give away the driver's identity at any point? I hope not.

Complain to the BPA and DVLA in writing that you never received a rejection letter or PoPLA code and copy it to UKPC. Not receiving these appears to be happening quite a lot.

Complain to your MP about this unregulated scam using the info you will find in post 1 of the NEWBIES. You need to read all of the NEWBIES in any case to understand how this scam works.
It is not a quick read.

  • All answered in the newbies section, don't bother ring DRP again they are powerless debt collector scum and wont answer your questions anyway unless your question is 'How do I pay'.

They have the right?? to contact you however they want and you can only rebut them all the way with only a slim chance of success, if you did go to Court and lose it is impossible to get a registered CCJ unless you buried your head in the sand and ignored the Judges order.

Read the newbies section and learn more about the game you are now in, there's work to do on your part and if you put the effort in you can beat these scammers.
