Having returned from a day of Christmas Hamper making in deepest, darkest Devon making all manner of amazing goodies ready for Christmas I wondered what you all make in advance?
So far I have Piccalilli, I'm starting my Chutneys shortly and then I'll need to do my world (!) famous red onion Marmalade. For months I've been doing little bits and bobs with gin and vodka like Elderberry Gin and Spiced Apple Vodka (so far I haven't allowed anyone at HQ to taste test any of these... but you never know who might get a special surprise for Christmas!)
Some will be presents and some will be for us to scoff over the festive period - but what are your top tips on things to make ahead?
Both what NEEDS to be made ahead, and what do you make before hand that might surprise us all

Hello!
I don't know if you only mean food and drink, but I try to buy the items I want during the year. I have in the last couple of weeks started making candles, lip balms and soaps. These will be part of the gift hampers I will make up. I do this because it's cheaper, I can choose the ingredients I want to use, and can produce zero waste gifts in many cases. They are gratefully received by friends and relatives. I have also started making beeswax wraps which can be reused and cost a great deal to buy, but are very cheap to make.
Food wise I have made chilli jam. Most of my foodie makes need to be done nearer the day however
