Good morning chums another week starting bit colder today though

Nelski if your frying pan really has gone the way of old pans then treat yourself to a nice new one I did earlier this year and its probably the last one I will buy in my life, as it cost an arm and a leg :) but golly its great I got it from JL and it's called a circulon and its blooming brilliant.

So good that when I went to Dunelm they had some baking tins there on offer so I bought new ones from there (quite a bit cheaper than JL to be fair) but my baking tins and cookie sheets are all circulon ones and they are so easy to wash and keep nice ,no scouring at all.

Today I have an easy morning, after my Monday morning Healthy Living walk run by our local council around the local park, followed by the free tea and biscuit from the library :) after that a bit of ironing to catch up with (as little as I can get away with :))

Then after lunch I shall take my DDs dogs for a short walk (it will be short as its very nippy but bright here at the moment then back to theirs to await the boys from school.Tonight I have my evening W.I. meeting which I enjoy

That takes care of Monday for me :) Tomorrow it's U3A coffee morning and quiz night at the pub in the evening so busy tomorrow as well .

Just read online that there has been a study that big SM charge less than their smaller branches !!! No $h&t Sherlock as if we didn't know I never use the smaller branches at all if I can help it.
Though for some people without transport or in more rural areas it can be quite a problem.

Right now enough waffle I must get a wriggle on as I have to be at the library for my HL walk by 10.00

    Have a good day chums

    JackieO xx

PS hope all goes OK for Scarlett today xxx

Thanks for the thread Bella and hugs to all those in need.

Chilly and overcast here today, occupational therapist appointment today, we will fit in two walks around the marina as well.

Csarina I don't drive in the dark either, so I'm missing my birthday treat this weekend as my lift has had to cancel.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

I slept a bit better but Mr Fix It woke me about 3am, rummaging for some headache tablets . His health is all over the shop at the moment but he gets his injection tomorrow, so I hope he will settle down in a few days.
Dad was sweetness and light yesterday, even apologised, but I know it won't last. Hey ho it is what is is but I'm very much aware of things now.
I wanted to go out to buy more eggs to finish off the cakes, but it's sooooo cold and I cba. We have to go out tomorrow anyway, so I'll get them then.

Today I must hoover through downstairs and clean the top of the cooker :o. This afternoon I will get the DGCs presents down, sort and wrap them. I also need to write my Xmas cards...... I'm so far behind this year. This retirement lark should mean I have loads of extra time...... no such luck, I'm always running around like a headless chicken :rotfl:.
Tea tonight will include leftover roast chicken but I haven't decided what to do with it. Oh I might ask Mr Fix It to make his chicken and blackpudding wrapped in bacon and topped with grated cheese thingy mmmm . That sounds good to me :j

ScarlettR I hope you had a better nights sleep.
Nelski hope you sort out your pan. Mr Fix it is always burning ours, so much so that I only buy him cheap ones now (he's burnt one too many expensive ones :rotfl:)
    Candygirl :hello:
Poppy it was lovely to hear from you but I'm sorry about your infection. Hope you get rid of it soon.
Speky how lovely to be in your new flat. Enjoy, enjoy :j.
JackieO call that an easy time . I'm exhausted just reading about your days :rotfl:
Sending healing vibes to the poorlies and hugs to all
    Take care and stay warm

    Afternoon all!

I am cream crackered from shampooing the sitting room carpet. My vax (a new one but the old fashioned sort, chosen because I didn't want a separate machine as well as a vacuum) is efficient but it is heavy work and I'm starting to realise that some things that were hard work in my 40s are even harder in my late 60s. Also my ears are ringing as it is a lot if sustained noise. However I do now have a clean carpet, actually it is a very large rug, pretty old with stains, not bothered too much about those, it was the general grime I was attacking. Once it is dry, I can put the room back together. It is nearly dry now, I spend much more time extracting the muckY water than I expect to, gets me every time.

Scarletribbons hope things have gone well and that you are not too uncomfortable.

Snoozer, I will join you in disliking Michael McIntyre and I have never bothered watching I'm a Celeb, nor Strictly, nor Coronation Street or Eastenders. In fact I'm a telly failure. I tend to record films. It isn't that I don't watch at all, just that there is little that I am interested in.

I need to mobilise myself and get some lunch, OH is cooking this evening, cottage pie.

Tomorrow I'm going to a historic house with lovely gardens with a friend, looking forward to that.

Hope that Holly, Mrs TA and Al, of us who are sad or worried are ok.

ETA I put the washing out because, like a fool, I listened to the weatherman. It is raining .
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • Good afternoon all, and thanks everyone who wished me well for the dreaded colonoscopy

Don't want to put anyone off their lunch, suffice it to say it was entirely different to the last time, didn't hurt at all, and nowt sinister discovered thank God. The symptoms were related to another non malignant condition. Enough of that- hope everyone is doing all right.

Thinking of TA, H Hester, Gers and her Mum, Poppy, -Taff, and Dumpling. Snoozer, hope you and family are ok.

Speky you seem to be getting settled in, hope you'll be happy there 😊

    Take care folks

    Afternoon everyone,

Scarlet,so glad it went well :j
I've been making the most of an empty house as DS1 is away all this week, done all the bedding this morning apart from DGS,but he's not sleeping here until Wed so that can wait. The house downstairs is tidy as DH and I set to before my DB and SIL visited yesterday :D Upstairs is a different matter- one of my cousins wants an update on the family tree so I've been delving amongst the stuff to find relevant papers to do her some copies, & its all over our bedroom.
We had a good weekend,on Sat. DS and I took the children to a 'write your letter to Santa Day' run by the Wildlife trust at the park, which they loved. We had to hunt for clues along a woodland trail for special stamps, they were really excited, and free hot choc after :) Meal at our friends house on Sat night, and yesterday me and DH had the house to ourselves so just chilled out-bliss!
Our car has gone off to the garage today on a low loader,eventually- because its the alternator the battery was so flat DH couldnt get the handbrake off and had to charge it.Anyway its gone, goodness know how much that'll be,apparently its in an awkward place :(
Speky, glad you like your flat,it'll soon feel like home.
Csarina sorry the sale was a waste of time :(
Poppy- happy to hear you are feeling a bit better now
Hi Candygirl, good to see you back- hope the shopping isnt as bad as you fear.Glad to hear your dogs are still being spoiled :rotfl:
TA,hope you are doing ok,thinking of you.Sending hugs to you and anyone else who could do with one xx

Speky I'm pleased you're now safely moved into your new place. Sorry, but I did laugh at Mr T being closed when you went for your shopping. I hadn't given a thought to shop opening laws being different from Scotland, or I'd have warned you.

Evening all, late to the party today but I did promise myself no fun until I'd done the bloody form, which is now done and waiting to be posted.
I have done nothing else today but I did take some sausages out of the freezer so them and mash with onion gravy for supper.
Feeling better, less coughing today and only a quarter of a pack of tissues used, so may be ok for un-scary mary make up lessons tomorrow...

    SR, huzzah!
Speky, what are the opening times in Scotland then?
Hugs and belated thingies to those in need! Poppy, good to hear you are getting over the latest one.

    Happy almost Tuesday!!
