Ebuyer charged me twice

I have just been struggling with Ebuyer trying to order a new Computer for christmas when both times at the checkout my debit card has been declined (640 pounds each time).

Now my account has 0 pounds credit and im slightly worried. I do have another account but wouldn't use it if possible.

Ive tried calling hsbc but they said nothing can be done until tomorrow...

Who do I ring tomorrow?

So the money had probably just been put on hold.

Sorry to tell you but without devine intervention you will have to wait a few weeks for the money to re-appear. (Neither side will take responsibility).

Is it going to be THAT long? I would think HSBC could sort it out without any problem

    Yes it liekly will be.

Ebuyer reserved the money to make sure you had it. Then some error made it all go bad and the order stopped. The reversed (which is never going to go out as them did not confirm it) will still be reserved unless they cancel it.

However as there is no order they will not help and say contact your bank.

You bank will ask for proff from ebuyer that they are not going to claim it.

    They will not provide this.

I would recomend not even trying if the phone calls are going to cost you money.

When a purchase fails on the internet the worst thing you can do it try again! Why do you expect a different resulty unless you changed something? And if you were going to check the account online for any PENDING transactions. Oh and always use a credit card. Not just for the extra safety but because then you can stop careing about the pending transactions (unless you use it like a nutter up to the limit).

EDIT to add: Also never use ebuyer if you expect customer service and competance.

Turns out my balance has gone up to what it was from 0 pounds.
Hopefully tomorrow morning it stays the same. Here's hoping it was just temporary.

Thanks is carot007 for your help.

It drops off quick, it never take a couple of weeks.

It certainly can do. I have had it. Though I never spend more than would cause issue.

Sounds good though OP. Though with ebuyer involved I would put it down to an automated system working for a change than actual competance!
