Entitled at anything else?

Daughter is 19years old, has a range of complex special needs. She currently receives Universal credit (assessed at the doesn't need to work catergory), and PIP. Nothing else is claimed.
She lives at home with myself and her dad, her 24/7 care is taken care of by family members.
Is UC and PIP all she is entitled to?

Comments

  • She may be able to get a disability bus pass. A CEA card means that a carer can go free when she goes to the cinema. Many other places also offer a free carer place, but you may have to ask.

In terms of benefits, though, I can't think of anything. She can't get housing benefit or help wth council tax as she lives with family. SDP isn't available to her for the same reason. She can't get JSA as she is not seeking work, and receives UC anyway.

If she doesn't receive Direct Payments, this might be a possibility, but they are to pay someone to help her. The council would have to arrange an assessment.

As she lives at home then yes she's claiming all she can claim.
Someone could claim carers allowance for looking after her, if they're not earning more than £120 per week but that wouldn't entitle her to more money.
A blue badge maybe possible depending on what award of PIP she has.
  • Thanks for the responses. Looked into carers but parents are retired and myself and husband earn over the threshold.
