Pay point problem

At the beginning of this month I went into my local shop to pay my council tax and rent. I handed over my money, they took the payments and then the computer went down and had to reboot so no receipt. The girl said it would take probably take about 20 mins to reboot but she would print my receipts and keep them for me. I went back a bit later and no joy, the data had disappeared. I got her to write me receipts for my payments and that was that but now I’ve had a reminder from council tax that I have missed a payment. I will ring them Monday to find out but it’s looking like my payment didn’t get sent. My problem now is if the payments are not sent who is responsible, the local shop or pay point. I don’t know what to do and don’t want to have to pay again something I’ve already paid and you know how the council tax people are 😨

The local shop have your money, they will be over that day by the amount you paid.

I’ve now sorted this out. The shop checked their takings for that day and it was over by the amount I paid. The transaction has been re done and I have receipts for it . Panic over
