  • Thought I'd give an update :
The amount I owe for the remainder of the council tax year is £196.00
I asked why these other outstanding figures mentioned above were put on the notices . I was told ,"it is just for your information " . How bizarre .

The end result , is that I got a total refund of £53.13 .
I will make the double payment in Dec of £196.00 and that should be that for another council tax year.
    Thanks for your help :)

If they use the system I think they do and it's the problem I suspect it is then the majority of staff won't be aware of how and why it does it but it tied up hours and hours for those who had to fix it (guess how I know that :rotfl:)
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.
  • Hi CIS . I fully understand :rotfl:
The other annoying thing I forgot to mention ,was the red letters / final demands etc when I did nothing wrong
Oh well, happy Monday I guess :)
