So glad you managed to sort that out! I've just wrote a very honest letter to them too so fingers crossed they take the same stance. I mean surely they don't want to spite people and like you say, they just want their money.0

I hope you have not yet sent that letter...
Read the post above, pointing out that the default is about to drop off the record since it was almost six years ago. Your "very honest" letter might be taken as acknowledging the debt, which would restart the clock so that it would sit on your file for another six years.0 -
The account will drop off 6 years from default, regardless of whether the OP contacts them.
The acknowledgement of the debt is only an issue in the sense of enforceability.0
