  • Had nice coffee and cake at the xmas fair and spent a few pounds on some very pretty ornaments for the tree, then popped down to the Hempstead Valley shopping centre ,which was heaving, as I wanted to go into the jewellers and managed to get some lovely silver earings for youngest DD for her birthday next month and a very pretty silver 'generation tree' necklace for my eldest whose birthday is also next month (worked those wrong didn't I )
I still have to find a birthday present for DGS Ben as he is 23 next month three days before his Mum !!!.
Also got some potted amyrilss as presents which didn't break the bank .had a look at the family organiser calendars.

Is it me or do you think that £11.99 is expensive for a calendar. There was a big stall selling them at this price which I thought was a bit OTT as last year they were a fiver but after searching around Sainsbobs managed to get one in there for £5.00 which is a 'tree' present that I buy for youngest DD every year.
She doesn't like the wipe off ones as in their house the special pens always seem to go walkabout, so I got her one that you can use an ordinary biro on :)

Stopped at Dobbies on the way home and had a nice coffee and a delicious apple and cinnamon scone which filled me up and I now have my trotters up with my knitting and the tv to watch

In Dobbies there was a reduced bar of Lintz lemon filled milk chocolate that was just shouting at me 'Buy me ,Buy me ,' :) so that's my treat tonight reduced to £1.34 from £2.99 I'm easily pleased :):) I may even have a small glass of something as well to celebrate starting my Christmas shopping :):)

    Have a good evening chums

  • After a very brief visit this morning, I've been distracted all day - so only just getting around to reading everybody's contributions ...................

Nelski - Thanks for starting the thread going this monring :T! Congrats on the saving on your phone/broadband and good luck with going through the rest of your finances :D.
silver-oldie - lol at your shortbread testing - hope they came up to quality control regulations ;)!
Gers - hope the 'froggie voice' settles down soon.
ancientofdays - hope you enjoyed the 'peace and quiet' until they all returned again ;).
dumpling - hoping that Lee's Care Co-ordinator can pull some strings on your behalf as well. Good Luck with the healing of your legs.
camelot1001 - well done on your Children in Need effort yesterday :j - and hoping that your plans for today work out.
ScarlettRibbons - well done on tackling your spare room :T.
Bozwood - hope your DH got his train ok and that you and DD enjoy your evening together.
snoozer - ((((Gentle Hugs)))) for Laura & Brian and You & Steve ................... such a trying time for you all.
nmlc - hope you enjoyed your shopping trip in the town centre :D.
Hester - hope all goes well for you when you evict your tenant. Difficult situation to have to be in :(.
WeeMidgie - your 'coffee club' sounds like a lovely idea for a Saturday Morning :j.
JackieO - hope the church Christmas Fair went well - it's good to do something positive for girls living in those societies where they're considered of 'no value' :(. Hope your cold takes the hint and moves on soon :undecided
redruby - enjoy your evening with your DM and the rest of the family :D.
dp1 - your day sounds delightful, hope it all works out as planned :T.
-taff - sometimes it does us good 'to have a good wallow', but hope your bugs/germs soon get a shufty on and leave you in peace.
nannywindows - well done you (:T taking on board all that Mr Fix-It and your DD had to say to you .................. must have been hard. Wishing you good luck for tomorrow if your DDad turns up for lunch - sending you all positive vibes and (((hugs))).
Mrs SD - well done you on dealing with your DH's stuff from his 'French jaunt' so promptly :j.
csarina - sorry to hear that the Christmas Fair was such a disappointment and hope that the next one is better for you.
Organza_Lace - Well done on handling your DGK's PLUS Grump (my own OH is quite similar with one of our grandchildren who sounds like your 'Livewire' - nicknamed 'Bouncing Billy'). There's lots of times that I'd rather take Billy out somewhere, rather than have him in the flat with OH around.
JackieO - your afternoon sounds lovely ............... and YES £11.99 sounds extortionate to me!!!!!
candygirl - hope your DMum enjoys her trip with the 93yr old friend ;).

I started my day with a visit from DS1, DDiL and DGS3 this morning - here to collect the pics that I'd picked up in CS for DGS3 and also the blouse that I'd made for DDiL. They then toddled off to DGS's Football. DS1 has had a rough week - this was the first time that one of his friends has passed away due to illness, and has reminded him of 'his own mortality'.

Managed to get two lots of laundry done - all now on the rad rails and airer.

Now sat here waiting for DS2 to come and collect me for an overnighter at their house. He and DDiL are off climbing Snowdon (for charity) tomorrow - so I get to look after their boys (Dylan 17, Billy 10 and Bobby 2) :j!

Hope all's well with our poorlies and those who are caring for others. ((((Huge Hugs)))) all round.

Night night, God Bless - don't let the bedbugs bite - luv Ollie xxx

Its brilliant and I could be out and about 7 days a week if I wanted to, so many things to do, just not enough time .

Next week I have the W.I on Monday night ,coffee morning Tuesday morning, Quiz Tuesday night, I daren't look on my organiser in the kitchen yet as I know I am all booked up next week and next Saturday I am driving up to pick up DGS Jack in Hertfordshire as he is coming home for his Dad's birthday as a surprise for him. I really have to juggle things around a bit :) but I recommend anyone if they want to try something different have a look at U3A, so many different things to do. Plus you get to meet so many interesting people

My DGC say Granny is far too busy to grow old :):):)and I certainly don't have time to have a cold ,luckily its starting to dry up a bit, at least its better now than next month :):)

    JackieO xx
