Hi Caz, Sounds interesting. When you say nothing happens after you put the username and password in do you mean the box goes away but you are left with a blank page?
Do you have another web browser installed? i.e. firefox (if not could you download it from here https://www.firefox.com and try that). Could be as simple as a browser issue.
If not then could you try connecting to the router temporarily with a cable rather than through the wireless connection and see if that makes a difference..?
Finally, what Router do you have?
Sorry for all the questions, but with a bit more info we might be able to help more
Cheers,

Very strange. How certain are you that it is the right password. Remembering it is the router username and password, not your ISP username and password. I know people have got this confused in the past. (username is usually admin)
If you are sure the username and password are correct can you try to download firefox as mentioned earlier, just to eliminate the browser as the fault.

What model is the D Link? It may be set to it's default username and password (they're sometimes even printed on the router itself, either underneath or on the back). If they don't work then as an absolute last resort you could reset to the factory defaults (the procedure depends on the model) and then use the default username and password."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

if the guy changed it then you are probably at a loss and need to do a facotry reset (usually holding reset button in for 10 seconds and then rebooting router). The default setting would be admin as the username and either admin or password as the password. Can't remember specifically for d-link, but it is one of them!
