Tax rebate withheld

Sorry if this is in the wrong section I desperately need advice

My husband is the only one working due to me having ill health we rely on his wages but his employer is being dififcult the problems we are having are

1) won’t pay contracted hours. They have currently run out of work so we have no money coming in

2) they have used his holiday pay to pay him wages... with out us knowing. Only just found this out.

3) managed to give him a few hours work this week but haven’t paid him (usually weekly)

4) he is due a tax rebate and hmrc said it would be here this week. (This is what we were told) We changed tax code on phone then employer has to change code then the tax rebate would be there) is that correct?


He has a signed contract stating hours he works etc. Now we are panicking as no money coming in. They are difficult people and not easy to approach due to us living in tied cold accommodation

Where do we stand?
