Hi,
We are having wood laminate flooring laid on Tuesday, and was wondering what would be the best underlay to get? Not worried about cost, just want the best stuff!
Its a 60's property and it will be on the concrete living room floor!
Was thinking either this: https://www.vitrex.co.uk/products/sonic-gold-acoustic-wood-laminate-underlay-2-5mm-10m2/
or this: https://www.vitrex.co.uk/products/premier-underlay-board/
Many thanks for any help

Then go for real wood, not plastic laminate !0 -
I have 60's concrete floor and had the boards for over 15 years laid on a moisture barrier which is joined with barrier tape. I relaid the laminate about 5 years a go and no sign of wear on the boards. There was signs of moisture under the barrier so I replaced this. I think the boards give a good insulation.0

I had Karndean laminate laid and underneath it Jumpax and i'm very pleased with it.0

We have Karnadean and jumpax in our living room and hall - we love it. Everyone thinks it’s real wood but it’s much cheaper and easier to care for (we mop ours). We are in the process of moving house and I’m really going to miss it! We’d definately get it again.0

Go with whatever the laminate manufacturer recommends."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Ride hard or stay home :iloveyou:0 -
Use the premier board, chepest place is Homebase, unless Screwfix will price match.
It is easy to use, has both good sound and thermal insulation qualities. you will need a layer of membrane under it though.
