Manchester Airport Uber charges

Options
Hi
On top of the excessive charges made by Manchester Airport for drop off and collection, I’d like to bring your attention that Uber take the mickey. They charge £4 for drop off whilst Manchester Airport does £3 (actually Uber pay less as they have a discount) and £6.5 for collection (real cost is £4 to the public but Uber will get a discount). So Uber RIP PEOPLE OFF by adding extras. Avoid them!

Why get stressed about this? There is a railway station attached to the airport, with an excellent service to the city centre and connections to just about anywhere. So anyone who is daft enough to insist on arriving by car deserves to pay whatever punitive charge is levied: another form of the "stupid tax".

I agree to an extent, given there are free options (drop off at the Jetparks and get the bus). However public transport isnt always an option.

As an example - I have a 9am trans-Atlantic flight from Manchester next year. On a Sunday.

Find me a train from Sheffield that gets me there in ample time to check-in, please.

    Too true
We go on Sunday from T2 and need to be at the airport by 7.00am
There are no trains from Bradford to Manchester at that time and from Manchester Piccadilly to the airport it's a bus as again no trains on.
amazingly we don't all live around London with its public transport.
Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy
  • Well, Uber have got to make up for their $1bn loss somehow. If anything, they're not charging enough to make their business viable!
  • Manchester airport has hotels for people using early morning flights - we use them all the time.

  • No ta, I'll just drive over and park up like I continue to do, would rather have an extra night at home!
