Good morning all, and a very chilly one too here. There's a nasty east wind blowing.
My laptop has finally given up the ghost, it "s given 10years faithful service though. I'm using a tablet with a smaller keyboard and screen, please forgive any mistakes.
I"m finally going into Newcastle today, so I've got a list.
A routine health check has revealed some potentially worrying symptoms so I've got a hospital appt on Monday for a colonoscopy, I hate them but for peace of mind I must have it.
I just keep thinking, by Monday lunchtime it'll be over. My appointment is for 8.30, so it should be!
I'm hoping for the best .
Speky, nice to hear from you.
Take care folks0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) for anyone who needs it and those of you who are struggling. I know what its like to struggle against depression.
Decided last night to check the stuff for the fair on Saturday and price up the new stock........counted the place mats 5, typed the prices and cut them up, used the staple gun to put them on, came to the mats......only 4. I know I made 5, can we find the other one, No.......
I have also been looking for a start up guide for something, I know I have it I saw it a few days ago, Can I find that? ..................no. I have come to the conclusion we have The Borrowers in this house!!
Late last night a friend emailed me asking for 6 table mats and a large mat for the table centre........great......however, I have used up most of my fabric, so guess who is going to be going to the fabric warehouse today. She wants the Christmas tree mats, I used fine calico for the background, none left I will also need fabric for the backing and binding. Of course she wants them for Christmas, so as soon as the two fairs are finished I am going to be back on the tredmill!! Must not complain, I will make a reasonable amount after costs.
Was at Aldi at 8.45 this morning, a lot of empty shelves, and also the freezers were very low. I got the last tub of icecream. I will go to the one in Bingham tomorrow and see if they are stocked any better.
Right OH out in the garden for his half hour........I need to sort tonight's supper.0 -

I think i ought to explain that Blackun isnt her real name. Her name is Millie but she is mainly black. Her 'sister' is Ginge for the same reason. Ginge's real name is Lucy...
This is Millie (or Blackun)....
This is Ginge (or Lucy)....
Both Golden Oldies...:D
So cute
They look like puppies to me0 -
Scarletribbons, poor you - the drink they make you take is horrible but I didn't mind the procedure. I refused sedation because I don't react well to the drugs and it was fine, I had a few seconds where I needed gas and air and the rest was painless.
Dumpliing, I have nothing to add except keep posting when you feel able.
SO, I'm full of admiration, a lot of people would have stopped visiting by now.
Speky, glad you're settling in.0 -
I really wanted to get dressed and crack on today but that never happened, Bake Off series 4 is on Netflix, I'm completely binge watching, so bloody hungry now though!
Will get off my arris and shower soon, channeling tramp is not a good look [or smell, TMI?]
Drinking much more water does seem to have helped with some side effects though, my tongue is much better this time. I recommendCan't open the bottles though, chance for OH to show how big and strong he is...although that wll e offset by the fact I seem to have caught his cold despite precautionary mask wearing...
So, plan for rest of today.....shower, dress, sort out ripe from unripe quince...
SR, the OH had one a couple of weeks ago, he was most impressed with the gas and air, not so impressed with the drink, He says G&A is the way to go, sedation was a bit rubbish....Nelski, that sounds like a relief, your mam that is..SO, I can understnd the frustration. I didn't see my mother that often because of geography so she usually made a special effort for me, but I know she didn't for my father and sister a lot of the time...dumpling, poor you, got nothing constructive to help I'm afraid, just keep going...:) Jackie, glad you're better. Lainey, poor thing! Gers, good to hear! Speky, it might settle down once you know the lay of the land and have your own place again. Bella, happy cleaning! Want to do mine?Black un is so cute

silver-oldie - I can't have been pleasant but there is something funny about that story with your DM. Like something from a sketch show.

Good afternoon
I have an excuse :rotfl: I have been doing housework :rotfl: wonders will never cease :rotfl: I am working in 30 minute bursts & keep getting distracted by finding more jobs to do  My ‘To Do’ list is getting ever longer ..............................................
Thirty minutes later ....... I have just re-stacked the crates & boxes in the dining room - I have ONE EMPTY CRATE :T:T:T & about TWO FEET OF EXTRA FLOOR SPACE :T:T:T - distracted again ........ the empty crate is now in the spare room with ‘my stuff’ in it which has been relocated from a broken crate which will go to the Tip :T:T I also now have a box file to go through but that will wait until tonight whilst I’m watching TV.
Thank you for starting us off Nelski & thank you for still ‘reporting’ on Holly’s situation :T
Real Life is throwing an awful lot of ‘sh**e’ around at the moment at lots of our OS posters and I just wish I could do something/anything to help/ease worries other than sending copious ‘virtual’ (((HUGS))). I applaud :T each & every one of you for your strength & humour in your adversities :T So many of you are so inspirational & generous in sharing your worries/health issues/family woes.
Thank you all :T
It has only taken me 1.5 hours to write this  & now I am signing off & getting on with my list :rotfl:
See you all tomorrow

Hello everybody, I will be on the naughty step for late posting.
I went to see and hear La Traviata last night, it cost an arm and a leg but it was wonderful and I enjoyed it so much, only marred by a woman sitting in front of me drenched in very heavy perfume. A small price to pay though. I was very late to bed, took a while to get home as the buses tend to be less frequent after 10, and like Speky, it took me hours to fall asleep and even then I woke at 4. So I went back to bed and slept for much of the morning, a waste of a morning but I was good for nothing.
I have been approached for some work, independent work in my specific field, I hope it happens as although I'm never bored, I miss the challenge of work (though not the relentless day in day out thing). Apart from the mental stimulation, a boost to the cash flow wouldn't go amiss. I can't really complain as I get my main occupational pension, a small one on top of that (split this way for boringly technical reasons) plus a small amount from this and that in terms of investment and the state pension. But I'm quite cross as I deferred my pension for 6 years and the DWP is still messing about with the additional pension - they owe me loads now and although I know they will pay in the end, it would be quite nice to have it now. It is a good job that I'm not reliant on just state pensions, people who are must face similar delays and what about those who don't have other sources of income? Sorry, rant over.
OL your little dogs are so cute, I really do miss having dogs. LaineyT that is not good, hope the soreness is better soon, poor little thing.
Dumpling, please don't feel you can't share worries, I know I'm a fine one to say that as I do tend to keep things inside but I also know how unhealthy that is.
SO, you have more patience than me.
Sending good thoughts to those of us who are unwell or worriedI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
OL, thank you for the pictures, they are so cute!
Scarlett Ribbons I have not had this procedure but husband had it last year and said it was (I am quoting) "nowt" which I gather meant that it was no big deal, he was in and out fast as well, I hope its as easy for you too.
Bozwood I hope you have managed to complain about your wages, you must be so cross.0
