ESB Energy

ESB Energy doesn't exist in the Cheap Energy Club menus. Too soon?

• Not all energy companies want to be listed on all comparison sites.
There are many OFGEM recognised price comparison sites, try one of them. The CEC isn't one by the way, it uses Money Supermarket (its owner) for switching data.
There are all listed at https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/consumers/household-gas-and-electricity-guide/how-switch-energy-supplier-and-shop-better-deal/compare-gas-and-electricity-tariffs-ofgem-accredited-price-comparison-sites
• ESB do appear on uSwitch (and UKPower), so I'm a little unsure why they can't appear on Cheap Energy Club. I raised it with CEC support back in September and was told the following:

Thanks for flagging this.
It looks like there is a possible issue on our site with ESB Energy at the moment, and we've raised this to our techies to investigate.
I appreciate this is frustrating, but I'll come back to you once we've heard that this is resolved.

I've yet to hear anything back.

I switched to them from bulb's variable tariff (who were amazing, I only switched due to their rising costs) for a fixed tariff just over a month ago and have had no issues so far. Their site is very simple and low-tec, I had some issues for their system to recognise my meter readings (although adding an historical reading earlier today seems to have registered now). Direct Debit is around 78quid a month and I can't find anyone cheaper (even on uSwitch).

never heard of this company before today.
It is coming up with good price for me,via uswitch.
It is Ireland’s state energy provider, for 90 years, so pretty secure .
Not many reviews about it on here, more on other sites because it’s so new perhaps.
Mixed though!
This is the first I have found who has actually switched to them.

I can find 29 deals with other companies that are less than ESB's offering for my consumption and location.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

Postcode a lot to do with it I suppose.
esb are new to this market,.
They are third on uswitch for me at present!
Uswitch special, which counts for nowt to me.
Same as CEC, which is fourth.
It is the “security factor” and price I was looking at.
So new there isn’t many reviews about them.
Trust pilot have a few, varied.

New to the UK yes, but ESB has a wealth of experience with over 90 years as the main electricity and gas supplier in Ireland.

I thought I would test these guys out by sending them an e mail requesting answers to 2 questions before/if I switch.
Do they take Dd upfront
Does the Dd change summer/winter

48 hours gone.
No reply.
Not looking good on their CS.
