Redundancy notice

Hi I have applied for voluntary redundancy at work, I have worked there 35 years how many weeks notice should I be paid.

  • That depends on how long your notice period is.

There are statutory redundancy notice periods. In you case 12 weeks.

But you should check your contract, as it might give you more than the statutory minimum.

However I would have thought this was a question you should have asked your employer before you applied for VR.

Applying for voluntary redundancy doesn't mean you have to take it if the figures arent right ,
However I'm ready to go now ,so it's always 12 weeks in the past, but I think they told me because they are letting us go early it will be slightly less?
But the link you supplied I had already read before posting but just wanted clarification before I discussed the point in work.
Thanks for the input much appreciated.
