Transfering from cash back credit card to purchase card - free?

Afternoon savers? :D

Got a quick question that i'm having trouble coming to grips with. I am nearing my years 0% Overdraft with Alliance & Leicester and have been reading Martins advice about what to do. i looks like the best option for me is to get a 0% purchase card and spend on that!

Thing is, I have an Egg cash back card i use to spend on, but I pay the balance from my account at the end of each month. I have double on the card than there is in my account currently, which i am sorting, but am thinking it would be pointless getting the purchase card (Halifax or similar) as I'm making 1% on purchases with the Egg, So.....

Could I move some of the money from my egg card to this purchase card until i have cash in the bank to pay it off, or will i get charged for what i consider effectively 'Balance transferring' (not sure how it all works see) Also, what about the money i take out of cash machines? Can I still take out money from hole in the walls with a purchase card for no fee? And what about my direct debits? Am I able to spend any money from the purchase card into my current account to take care of these outgoings? All of these I wouldnt consider to be 'purchases' in the true sense so am very weary of doing so, but as Martin suggests this to be the best practise method, I thought I would ask before ordering anything!

Any help and advice regarding my points would be fantastic, theres usually a wealth of knowledgable people on these boards! :T

Thanks
