Compers Challenge 2019

Earlier this evening I had about 200 comps open, out of those I doubt I even entered 20.

I have just realised how many different items I DON'T enter for.

Can you name 10 types of comps you DON'T enter :eek:

1 Books (When I read I use a Kindle)
2 Blu-Rays (We don't have a player)
3 Baby items (My kids are grown)
4 Children's items (As above)
5 Holiday abroad (Dogs)
6 Luxury Holidays (Dogs)
7 Spa Days (Just NO)
8 Sports stuff (LOL)
9 Make Up (Not for me)
10 Gin (I don't do Mothers Ruin, although I have entered 1 or 2 on Twitter hoping to win a bottle for a friend)

I could name loads more but that will do for now

1. Holidays in term time. As someone who works in a school its infuriating that most of the better holidays, snow holidays, breaks as sun-thur (exl school holidays!!!) I can't go on. It's beyond annoying that they are excluding a huge proportion of people that could possibly enter. I'd even by willing to pay an 'extra' if it was somewhere really good!

2. Ones where you actually need a child.
3. Photo comps of pets (no one ever wants to see my fish!)
4. Ticket events mid-week/sunday/termtime (unless it's something my OH or I would be able to get back within the same night)
5. Gleam/Raf if you have to do a million things before it lets you enter.
6. Pintrest (I don't get it!)
7. Books that are on a specific theme - unless someone I know would like it
8. Musical instruments
9. Gig tickets.
10. Things I already have - Just seen a comp for an 'insinkirator' when I moved in we already had one, and a wine cooler so there would be no point in entering for these!


There's probabaly other things. I don't beleive in selling things, especially if it's something like tickets to an event. Would much rather just give them away or not enter as I'd feel I was taking the chance from someone genuine.

Im quite sporty, my OH does triathlons so I enter for all of those. We go camping and snowboarding (wide variety) most of my work friends/friends have babies/children so there's always a box or someone to give the things to!

Sometimes I'll skip everything apart from vouchers.




I go back to work next week so will be dramatically reducing what I enter!

can't help lucinad, as i don't enter them - perhaps I should add them to my list of 10 types of comps I DON'T enter!

my list is:

1 - red wine/beer/whisky but will enter for white wine/gin/vodka/lager/cider
2 - tickets unless they're local
3 - vape stuff
4 - exotic holidays
5 - baby/kids stuff
6 - 'goodie' bags - (unless it was a BAFTA style goodie bag ) i've got enough tut as it is
7 - anything to do with skiing
8 - candles
9 - DVDs
10 - sunglasses (I wear glasses so need prescription sunglasses)

there's loads of others as I red cross the vast majority of comps on the board

Goodness me, just won another 20p from the Hummingbird. Possibly a new record!
Now, are we counting each sum as a separate win or does anything you win during the promotion count as one?

If it's a different day you can choose a different challenge, myself I would just add it to my xxxx/£2019 total

Ten things I don't enter for


1) Wedding items (already married)
2) Holidays abroad (don't have a passport)
3) Cookery school days ( Don't like cooking)
4) Recipe books (as above)
5) International competitions (don't want to pay import duty)
6) Eyejuster (or similar) glasses (I wear varifocals)
7) Ski wear (don't go skiing)
8) Motorbike items (don't ride a motorbike)
9) Caravan items (don't have a caravan)
10) Purchase comps if I would not normally buy the item.

Probably lots more too, as I red X a load of comps.

I do enter for baby prizes since having a grandchild.Some DVDs, some books, some make up, some alcohol, some experience days, theatre tickets, UK holidays and lots of random stuff.

Ten things I don't enter for

1 - Gin (don't like it!)

2 - "Family" holidays - got 3 kids and most are 2+2

3 - Tickets to anything that isn't local - no babysitters

4 - Anything for vegetarians - I'm not veggie so don't feel right to enter

5 - Baby items - my kids are too old now

6 - Craft Items - not the slightest bit creative!

7 - Self Tanning stuff - sensitive skin

8 - Camping/Caravan equipment - hate camping!

9 - DVD's - I don't have a DVD Player

10- Sex Toys! Do't want to embarass the postie :rotfl:
