Can my girlfriend reclaim any charges made by her credid card company??

Hello again,
My girlfriend thinks that ignorance is bliss when it comes to repaying her credit card balance. Now I know quite a few of you have successfully reclaimed your credid card charges, so I'm wondering if my girlfriend can do the same.
However her situation is not quite the same as most people here in the UK.
She is Danish & has lived here in the UK for some time now. She has an outstanding balance on her Danish credit card of some £3000.
Now she doesn't even know what the interest rate on the card is, nor does she know how much they charge her for late payments. I actually think that she thinks that the bank doesn't charge for late/non payments of outstanding balances. How else do they make their money???
She's actually not paid her monthly balance for a while now, so I'd hate to think how much they're charging her for her ignorance.
So, my question is can she try & reclaim the charges the bank has obviously been charging her? Will she need to ask for monthly statements to be sent over to the UK?
Again, appreciate any help & advice you can give me. Shes skint enough as it is & i want her to pay it off asap.
Thanks again,
Richard

I have no idea whether or not Danish banks have penalty charges. Neither do you, neither does your girlfriend (although she should know). If she’s not bothered about these things, you cannot make her take an interest. Now she doesn't even know what the interest rate on the card is, nor does she know how much they charge her for late payments. For example, German banks are not allowed to have penalty charges, they make their money from ‘account keeping fees’ and if accounts are not properly run, they close them quite brutally. Danish banks might do the same: there might not be an account anymore and the matter has been for quite a while with some Danish debt collecting agency. Who knows? And in your girl friends case: Who cares? She might rely on being for ever out of the reach of Danish banks and other institutions.
It’s her life, her money. Just make sure you do not open a joint account with her here in the UK.0 -

Well, err, thanks for that:rolleyes: So has anyone else had any experience of claiming back charges from a credit card company that is based in another country?
