First Holiday alone

Hi,

When I've taken my kids abroad, I've always travelled with family or friends. I'm wanting to go away next year but go it "alone" (As in, me and the two monsters I live with....)

We've done holidays on our own in the UK but I want to venture abroad now.

Where would be a good location to go? I don't want to spend a fortune (They'd be more than happy with a beach and a bucket and spade...) and it needs to be suitable for a 7yo and a 11yo

Thanks

Difficult to beat Majorca, simple to get to from virtually every airport in the UK, decent accommodation and plenty to see and do.

I have done Crete and Kos on my own with the children (in my case left OH at home working). Both I looked for hotels with water slides plus all inclusive. Being Oct half term they weren't too busy. I have just booked next Oct and got a free child place for the youngest (11).

Try one of the Greek islands. Most have pools even if self catering, book it all yourself and will more than likely be cheaper. Near herisonnos there’s a free water park, noddy train that wasn’t too expensive, Greek nights.

Maybe better on Spanish mainland - no tourist tax to add to the expense of a holiday.

Lykia World in Olu Deniz is great for kids. Lots of other places to visit too, paragliding, snorkelling, mud baths, visiting historic sites, turtle hospital, horse trekking, ghost village, pirate ship trips, river cruises.
