Universal credit-Report a change of circumstance and now what?

I’ve just recently gained employment for a Christmas temp in a retail store. I work 16 hours and get £8 hourly rate. I have just started Sunday just gone and reported the change immediately. I asked my work coach if I will have to job search whilst I’m working and she said no I wouldn’t, but I just wanted to confirm this was true?
Also, does anyone know roughly how much I will get on my monthly ‘top up’ from universal credit as I know it will be reduced quite a bit and I won’t get my
Usual £235 a month.

What does your claimant commitment say as regards the number of hours that you are expected to work? This is usually based on your personal circumstances - single/disabilities/caring responsibilities.

For example, a single person with no children, disabilities or caring responsibilities would be expected to work 35 hrs a week.
  • It gave me new commitments to except, which just stated I’d do everything I can to find work or earn more. However, I have already found work obviously and at the moment I can’t earn more as a Christmas temp is just expected to do the hours they’re given and when they’re needed in store. It also stated just to report any further changes and if there’s any appointments to go to them and that’s it. It didn’t state anything about work search or having to do 35 hours job search. I had an appointment with my work coach before I changed my
Circumstances and she said you won’t have to do any work search for the 3 month you’re there And I will be changed from a intensive search claimant to a different category as I am now working part time.
  • It also didn’t say anything about how many hours im expected to work and my work coach didn’t say anything about that. She just mentioned my pay will obviously change and My top up payment is based on hour many hours I work and how much I get paid.

This seems to fit your circumstances if you are single with no children, no disabilities and no caring responsibilities.

    In-work conditionality
You might face conditionality requirements even though you are already in work. Your conditionality requirements depend on how much you are earning and whether your wages are over your earnings threshold.
If you are earning below your threshold you will be expected to make efforts to increase your income. The DWP suggest that this may include increasing the hours you work, finding additional work or finding a new job with a higher income.
The threshold is based on what you would earn if you worked for 35 hours a week at the National Minimum Wage. Though if you have caring responsibilities your threshold may be lower than this. If you are claiming as a couple, the DWP will look at whether you are earning above your threshold as a couple.
If you are single and earning over your earnings threshold, or you are a couple and earning over your joint earnings threshold, you will be subject to no work-related requirements.
If you are single and earning less than your earnings threshold but more than £338 per month, you will be subject to all work-related requirements, except for looking for work. You will still have to be ready to take up more work, to do the things your job coach asks you to and to go to work-focused interviews.
