Well that post was a waste of space.

Why, given the size of the toll sign posted, the person must have been driving blindfolded to miss it.

Its in disputable, tried pulling a fast one and its back fired.

A bit like you reading this thread. :rotfl:

The OP said, and I quoted the relevant part, that Merseyflow are refusing to take payment.

You need to read it yourself, they failed to pay the toll and now must pay a fine.

Too late trying to pay the toll after the fine has been issued.

    - Signs look clear enough to me. No doubt there's a toll.
    - People need to sort out their forwarding address properly when they move.
I've had endless trouble with people who don't one way or another over the years.

    - Friend needs to pay the fine.

No, you need to read it, it's the fine that can't be paid (although I assume that the toll also can't be paid, and may not even be due now a fine has been issued).

This site seems to have a good handle on things:

    I particularly like this bit:

"Halton have appointed at least one firm of 'civil enforcement agents' (Marstons). But though the bridge has been open for a year, not a single case has so far (end of October, 2018) been passed to the recovery agents. It seems that, for one reason or another (possibly because all of this is illegal), Halton are reluctant to go to the stage where bailiffs are knocking on people's doors, seizing their possessions and wheel clamping cars."

So which is it? In the OP it said bailiffs were involved but this suggests no bailiffs have been instructed.

I think you both need to read it again ... reads to me like the OP ('s friend) is looking to pay the fine but not the additional bailiff costs. But none of us will know for sure unless the OP comes back to clarify.

I agree, the OP ('s friend) is trying to pay the fine, but says:

"...too late to try to pay the toll fine"

which seems pretty clear to me, but I can't disagree that some more clarity from the OP, or better still their friend, would help.

I'll put this in easy terms for you.

Its £20 each way fine, plus the initial toll of £2,as the OP didn't pay and absconded to some effect its gone to bailiffs to chase..

The bailiffs have caught up with OP and now want £££ more.

The Op is attempting now to try and pay the fine, but its gone too far on this occasion.

They need to settle the bailiffs bill etc to draw a line under this.
