Home Insurance contents claim

Hello,
I've not made a claim on my home insurance in a while. Nothing has been worth claiming on. But now there's been an accident, with water spilling on a laptop, that it seems worth it. I even have the laptop included as extra item for this kind of thing...
I just wanted to ask what claiming will do to my insurance next year. Will it be worth it? Any advice before I call them to claim?
Thanks all...

You can get a good idea of what difference this claim will make to the premium by doing dummy quotes online with and without this claim in your history0
-
You can run dummy quotes using false data to see the impact an Accidental Damage claim could have on your premiums.0

Great minds.... Will give that a try, thanks!0 -
I'm with More Than.. does anyone have any ideas how their process works for this kind of thing? Will they need me to send them the laptop? Will they give me the value of it (it's quite an old MacBook so that wont help much) or give me the cost of a replacement? Or just give me a replacement?
And how long will all this take? I need this for work so if it's going to be a while then I might have to buy another one in the meantime... which is irritating....
Anyone with experience with them who could offer insight..?0
