Beefeater is backing a campaign to ensure that bad cracker jokes are a thing of the past and is calling on every comedy citizen to take note and join in a special Christmas cracker joke competition.

The search is on for jokesters from each region to send in their funniest or favourite gags. The winner of the very best gag will win holiday vouchers, which can be used for a family holiday to Lapland** and the chance to have their humour included in a set of Christmas crackers.

Winning jokes from each region will be included in a special range of Christmas crackers to be presented to the winners.

1. No purchase necessary. Beefeater reserves the rights to change, or close this competition without prior notice if required for any reasons beyond its control.
2. Competition open to UK residents aged 18 or over, except employees and their immediate families of Whitbread Group Plc, its agents or any other person professionally connected with this competition.
3. Participants must have a valid email address.
4. The prize is as stated. No cash or other prize alternatives are available.
5. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries delayed or lost, and proof of completing and submitting an entry form will not be accepted as proof of receipt by the Promoter.
6. All entries must be received by 30th November 2007.
7. The winner will be the entrant who, in the opinion of the judges appointed by the Promoter, has completed the promotion question in the most apt and original way. The winner will be notified by e-mail within 3 days of the closing date.
8. The decision of the Promoter in all matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

11. No cash alternative available for any part of the prize. The winner's prize consists of £1,250 worth of travel vouchers. The prize will not include travel to or from any airports, spending money, travel insurance. Whitbread PLC accepts no liability once the prize has been awarded.

13. Your entry must not defame anybody nor breach any copyright.
14. We reserve the right to remove jokes which we consider may cause offence or may be unsuitable or inappropriate for this competition, for example (without limitation) because of their violent, criminal, religious, political, racial, sexual or exploitative content.
15. Entry into this competition constitutes acceptance of these terms and entrants will be deemed to agree to be bound by them.
16. The prize winner will be notified by 3rd December 2007.
17. In the event that the winner cannot be contacted by 3rd December 2007 than a runner up will be drawn at random and will be the new competition winner.
