Car repairs
I picked up my Ford Fiesta today after a replacement rear bumper was fitted. The colour is not an exact match and quite noticeable. The bodyshop which is a national established one said the bumper was painted at source direct from Ford. I thought it would come primed then painted to best match the colour. A new one has been reorderd but what's to say it will match? What are my options if the new one does not match? Can you repaint a plastic bumper?

Yes you can repaint plastic bumpers, a good body shop should be able to match it to the rest of the car.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I was looking at some new cars today (my car was in for service) and the plastics were a slightly different shade to the metalwork. Some colours show it more than others.0

How old's the car? What colour? Solid or metallic?
It's entirely possible the bumper matches the paint as the car left the factory, but over time the car's faded. This is far more likely to have happened if the car's a solid colour that doesn't have a clearcoat. If it's red and not clearcoated, then it's almost a dead cert.0
