The landlord is claiming a loss; he does not need to correct any damage for a successful claim0 -

It will drive you mad trying make him pay. Is it really worth your stress, time, and agro? I know it's so difficult in some situations, especially when you've been wronged but most times it's best to just cut your losses and move on.
Complete your dispute and then you're free of landlord. I've had some crappy landlords and can sympathise with your feelings but most likely, your landlord is the type that will just bounce off whatever you try to do.0 -
