Cosmetic Research Online

I joined cosmetic research online about a year ago. You fill in a profile about yourself and you can be picked for selected trials on different cosmetic products.
So far I've had 12 invites. Managed to get on 2 trials which were rubbish!

They send the e-mails out during the day to invite you to a trial - great if you don't work or have all day access to a PC, but some of us don't. Or if we do we don't spend every 10 minutes checking our e-mails in the hopes that we've got friends!

By the time I get home at 6pm and check my e-mail, the trials are already gone!! Probably snatched up by the same people of the above descriptions.

WHY OH WHY don't they individually pick out the amount of people needed, rotating this so everyone gets a fair chance, and if the trial isn't filled in 12hrs to mail out invites to others (so if they needed another 50 to mail out 100)??!!!

It really does wind me up as I feel that it's very bias and they also don't get a good cross-section of people with different lifestyles, just zombies who sit in front of their PC's all day - money-earners or not.

I've complained but it falls on deaf ears.
Watch out people. You don't know what lurks around the corner for you![/SIZE]

Ditto. Completely. Work have now stopped us accessing our Yahoo mail so I have *no* chance of picking up emails.. urghhhh :(

I bet the same people get to do about 95% of the trials all the time....

Oh yeah, and the other thing I HATE is their 'star' system - they grade you according to how quickly you respond to their emails and log onto their system. So far I've not managed to get better than 'barely adequate' - if you reply a millisecond after they send out the mass mailing you get upgraded to extra special swotty star and get invited on extra trials :D

The Star rating system is how prompt you are at completing and returning the trial questionaires - not how often you log in.

If you complete the trial and return the questionnaire on time you receive a good rating and are offered further trials. If you return it late or don't return it at all then you receive a poor rating and may not be offered further trials.

Perfectly fair if they're working to deadlines.

I'm a SAHM and have been registered with them for a while but I've also never managed to get on even 1 trial. I've logged in within 45 mins of receiving the email, but all the trials have gone! Maybe I ought to sit at my pc 24/7 :)

I've been a member of Cosmetic Research and Pinecone for ages and I've done one cosmetic survey and three Pinecones in all that time. I'm not bothered, I got £12 luncheon vouchers and some lovely body lotion in return for very little effort. It's just a freebie, either you get some or you don't.
