65 and still on DLA?

I was granted long term, lower rate DLA some years ago. My health has not changed. I have not received a communication from DWP regarding transferring to PIP. I had my 65th birthday last July and am still receiving DLA payments into my bank account.
I am confused. Am I still entitled to DLA? Can DWP reclaim the payments made after my 65th birthday? Should I have applied for AA after my birthday? Is it best to just wait for DWP to contact me? Any advice would be gratefully received. TIA Sam

You'll eventually be asked to apply for PIP, as you weren't 65 on 8th April 2013. DWP are just behind contacting those still claiming DLA and there's lots of people still waiting.sam_arnold wrote: »I was granted long term, lower rate DLA some years ago. My health has not changed. While you're waiting you could gather some evidence to support your claim and do some research into what PIP is all about. It's different to DLA, with different criteria. Claiming DLA doesn't automatically entitle you to PIP.
For PIP it's not about a diagnosis, but how your conditions affect your ability to carry out daily activities based on the PIP descriptors.
Most people have a face to face assessment as it's rare to have a paper based assessment.
Some link below for you to look at.

Morning Sam
you can only claim AA for any new claim when you are of pension age. as you were and still on DLA, this doesnt matter
the dWP will write to you when they want you to make a claim for PIP instead of DLA, so until then, dont worry about it
if or when you do receive the letter, you will have 4 weeks to get your PIP claim done - contact Age Concern/CAB for any further help on the matter when it comes up0 -
Worth adding too that when you are invited to transfer from DLA to PIP should your PIP claim fail you will have the option of applying for AA instead.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

Thanks everyone but I am still a little confused.
(I am Mrs Sam BTW.) I started to receive my state pension just before my 65th birthday. Will I still be asked to change from DLA to PIP or am I too old to apply for it now?
Thanks again.0 -

Yes you will still be asked to apply for PIP because you weren't 65 on 8th April 2013, as stated in my other comment above.0 -

you will eventually, when its your turn, receive a letter asking you to apply, because you were 65 after April 2013
until that letter and request arrives, then there is no need for you to do anything at the moment0
