Online Celebrity Charity Auction - *Open* (Westlife Tickets Now Available!)
Options
Hello everyone at MSE
I'm supporting a friend who is raising money for Mencap. We've set up a fab website with a Charity Auction and Shop. Here are the details:
An online auction and shop has been set up to sell or auction celebrity autographs and memorabilia.
All proceeds from the website will go to support Mencap.
All autographs and merchandise have been directly donated by the celebrities or their representatives specifically for this purpose.
Among the items available for auction are:
1. Signed photos from celebrities such as Tom Jones, Take That, Terry Wogan, Gordon Ramsay, Tony Blair, Thomas Castaignede, Dannii Minogue, Davina McColl, Suzi Quatro, Yvette Fielding and Des O’Connor among others;
2. A top worn by Leanne Battersby from Coronation Street (with a certificate of authenticity from Coronation Street);
3. Signed books from Louis Theroux, Jeremy Paxman, Alan Titchmarsh and Jeremy Bowen;
4. A signed Ant and Dec DVD;
5. 2 x signed Judge Jules CDs;
6. “The Face of Boe” Dr Who action figure & ‘Martha Jones’ signed photo card
7. WRU 07 squad signed picture (print);
Other items such as: Autographs, including individual Emmerdale cast members, Davina McCall, “The Ferret” Chris Segar, and Angellica Bell (CBBC) ; Printed autograph pictures including Paul o Grady, Buster and Coronation Street cast members; DAB digital radio; and TV and radio memorabilia.
We’re doing this outside of ebay (partly because of the amount of forged signatures within ebay, and partly to avoid ebay fees so more money goes to Mencap), and are relying on word of mouth to publicise the website and auction/shop.
Please pass this link on to your friends, family and colleagues.
Wales and Patagonia share a unique relationship. In 1865 the first Welsh settlers arrived in Patagonia, joined by scores more over the following decades. In October 2008 I will be taking part in a trek through the Los Glaciers National Park in Southern Argentina, to raise money for and awareness of Mencap.
Mencap (http://www.mencap.org.uk/) wants a world where people with a learning disability gain an equal right to choice opportunity and respect. The charity believes that people should have equal opportunities in education, work and in playing a full part in the community. They believe that support for the families and carers of people with a learning disability is vital to achieving their vision.
We need to raise at least £3,500 before the Trek. We have made a good start, and have already raised over £900 through a variety of means including cake and card sales, sponsorship and donations. Progress to date can be seen on the just giving page, www.justgiving.com/meinirjones.
Many thanks for reading and for your support.
