Too early for Christmas lights?

I live alone & don't really see my family at Christmas or celebrate it.
I only put a small 1.5 or 2 foot gold tinsel tree up on my little side table in the living room with some multi coloured battery lights - which is festive enough for me. Nothing else.
It won't come out til the 1st December. It is nice to look at on an evening.
Having the full shebang just feels empty to me as I've never had a "proper" Christmas & doing it all for the sake of it is a bit pointless.0 -
Growing up, we would never put ours up until Christmas Eve, and take them down on 12th Night.
I do put mine up earlier now, but that's because I rarely get to spend Christmas at home, so I'm usually travelling or have already left, but Christmas Eve.
I will probably put my tree up at home on the weekend of 15th, and then help put up the decorations at my parents home on Christmas Eve. Since I am not going to be there at Chrsitmas I won't put up anything other than the tree, and maybe some lights on the gate, if the ones I bought last year still work!
At work, the tree will go up on Friday 30th, because that is when our High Street is having it's Winter Festival, and the civic lights are being switched on. Normally the tree and decorations in the office go up on 1st Dec (or closest working day) although what people do in their own offices is up to them - I've seen one strand of tinsel already...All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
