Switching to Natwest - I dont think so!

Well I have tried to top two in the list that are considered to be the best. HSBC - I qualified for the monthly amount to be paid in but when it had gone through the process of checking it only offered me the lesser of the two accounts available.
Then I tried Natwest - what a waste of my time. First attempt I was presented with PC/Smart Phone verification system. Eventually I got the selfie and my DL front and back submitted but when it checked them it couldn't verify my identity and asked me for a document which I just didn't have.
Spoke to customer services and they said that they would get the application cancelled and to try submitting an online application with a special sort code and bank account number - did it twice but two weeks on I am still waiting for my letter(s) and still getting text messages from the first application asking me to complete the online verfication!
I'm rather glad that they didn't switch me if thats what their customer services is like - rubbish.

When I switched to NatWest I had issues with their online document portal, same as you. I ultimately resorted to going into a branch to physically show them my ID - if there is a branch near you I might suggest you try the same (was super painless in person).0

Hopefully their portal doesn't mess me around in the same way, whenever I get the email through... it gets one chance to get it done right before I go to the branch!urs sinserly,

I tried opening current account with Natwest (almost every bank i could apply to) with Monzo bank statement as my proof of address but their branch staff refused to accept it as valid proof of address (Every other bank branch did the same) but came back home, uploaded BRP and same bank statement as proof of address in their system (took me 15,20 minutes because it was awfully slow and unresponsive) but i did get my account opened in a same week. Branch visits are probably easier option if you have all the standard documents and their online document process can be real pain sometimes.0

Well, I didn't get the email after a day, so I called up, and the (very helpful) person on the phone couldn't find my application at all. None of the details given to me - application reference, account number, customer number - pulled anything up. She advised me to wait another day, but in the meantime consider applying again as it may well go through quicker.
So I apply again, and the account gets opened immediately with no ID needed.... then an hour later I get an email asking me for ID for the first application... which I've since called up and cancelled.
Hopefully this won't mess up the Quidco (which hasn't tracked yet for the new application) but it should be fine for the £125. Not entirely impressive though.urs sinserly,

I'm going to switch to NatWest in two weeks. Even if it's a bit long winded, it's worth it for £125. As soon as I have it, switching to Tesco.0

Didn't get confirmation of the switch, however I called the switching team and they confirmed that my switch was initiated and on track.
Must say that everyone on the phone has been extremely friendly and helpful so far; rather impressed with the NatWest app too, very slick. Still amazed they're offering that Get Cash thing, presumably they ironed out the kinks around risk!
If there hadn't been the hiccup surrounding the initial "lost" application I'd say this is pretty painless all told.
EDIT: Since had text and email confirming the switch. I think my issue may have been impatience more than anything! So far so good.urs sinserly,

If your balance of your switch process is greater than £1500, does that count as funding it with £1500 to get the cash incentive? Or do they require an additional funding of £1500 in addition to your switch balance?0

I dunno, I transferred most of the balance to another account before the switch completed, to avoid any doubt. If your balance of your switch process is greater than £1500, does that count as funding it with £1500 to get the cash incentive? Or do they require an additional funding of £1500 in addition to your switch balance?0
