Credit ladder reporting

I Saw Martin discussing tenants now being able to report their rent to boost credit rating. This is done via reporting to credit ladder or Canopy. Both request all of your online banking details. Is this safe and has anyone done this ?

To boost your credit history - not the made up score and rating.
Credit Ladder aren't that reliable apparently - though Social Housing associations have recently joined Experian's own Rental Exchange scheme0
