Has anyone any experience of the JL 5 year TV guarantee that they exclaim proudly about all the time?
2 years and 2 months since I got a Samsung 40" LED from them and it's started displaying dark and light blotches with random coloured areas.
I used photoshop to create a single grey solid colour image and displayed it on the screen...

Blotches all over, left side darker than the right with a weird yellow area (which appears pink when watching a low light TV show).
In their warranty, they have a couple of exclusions...
* Image ghosting or screen burn. These can appear on a screen that's left operating for a prolonged period with either a still image or a channel constantly displaying a logo
* Pixel spots. These are tiny dark or bright spots that may become visible on a screen
It can't be ghosting/burn, as it's random blotches all over not an image. Not heard about pixel spots before - but they are hardly "tiny" like it says in the exclusion.
So hopefully this would be covered. Just got to find the receipt now!

My experience was that after I had a new TV just over a year ago there was a problem with sound. They twice sent out an engineer from LG to replace the card. After this it worked but when I asked what would happen if the 2nd card failed to solve the problem and could I then get a new replacement TV they became quite firm and obstructive about that. Sufficiently so that next time (hopefully not for some years) i will be looking to Richer Sounds.0
