Hi,
My vehicle was parked in a private car park somewhere the driver has used several times. a ticket was bought which was placed on the dashboard visible.

Several weeks later I (The keeper) received a letter stating I had a PCN (There was not one on my vehicle when the driver returned to it although they have a photo showing a PCN on Drivers window of car )
In the parking companies photo you can see a ticket although the ticket has slipped down.

I have the ticket and have sent the company a copy.
They are still asking for the money which I have no intention of paying.
They are using the words "Retrospective Authority to park will not be accepted"

Please can you advise what I should write back to them
Thank you in advance

Go here, scroll down until you find the blue template and send that. Then edit your original post. You weren't parked, the car was parked, the DRIVER bought a ticket, the KEEPER has received a NTK. do not reveal who was driving.

Who is the parking company ???

They do reject because they use robo rejectors

But, if the ticket can be seen on their pictures, they have given you the proof you require
It's a case of "drop it now" or the pictures will be shown to a court

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week, hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. It has even been suggested that some of these companies have links with organised crime.

Watch the video of the Second Reading and committee stage in the House of Commons recently. MPs have a very low opinion of this industry.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by in the not too distant future..
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Thank you for the replies.
I could not see a template to reply. I have sent One letter I used a template from MSE.
Can I attatch the photo from the company of the windscreen to show you? The compnay is "Armtrac security services"
  • Thanks for the reply.
I have looked there. I have sent the first letter and was looking for guidence for the second.
On part of the page it says not to appeal and on another it says to appeal it is an IPC company.
    Thanks

The advice here is once you have sent the initial appeal to an IPC company you go into wait and see mode

appeals to IAS are futile and detrimental to you as explained in the Newbies FAQ #1

Ignore everything except a LBCCA or court correspondence

They have 6 years to take legal action against you

If it comes to that then come back at that time for advice onhow to defend this

There is no second step. You've done the first appeal and the IAS is not a fair option for any consumer, so sit tight.

Search the forum for Armtrac fluttering ticket , read all the threads where miraculously, tickets on dashboards have all *moved* when the Armtrac employee rocks [STRIKE]the car[/STRIKE] up (what a coincidence, eh, what are the chances?!)

Obviously no-one here pays these scammer firms. Come back if they try a small claim, always defendable.

Please don't ask how likely a court claim from Armtrac is, the PADI link with that statistic for every PPC, is already in the NEWBIES thread.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • Thank you very much for your precise useful advice
    Much appreciated
