Selling car - advice needed

Hi
I have a Vauxhall Vectra (2006 -automatic) which I would like to see. Its off the road at the moment, has done only around 50k miles and registered to 2/3 owners only. I would like to find out if it can be sold on internet easily so I do not have to get it around. I have tried webuyanycars but they are paying very minimal, have talked to other dealers but they can not find on national database so they can see a value for it.

Thanks.

An automatic Vectra with No MOT is going to be hard thing to shift.

If you get an MOT it will help but you are selling very niche car.

I would suggest you list it accurately on ebay with a starting price of £500 (or 99p) and see how you get on.

If you want to achieve maximum money and you know the car to be good then arrange for a local garage to collect it and MOT it for you or find a mobile mechanic with trade plates who can move it around easily.

With Trade offering MOT'd cars for under a £1000 I would seriously consider a low start of ebay as you could end up spending money on an MOT and not getting it back.

How much has we buy any car offered?

To get top money for it, it will need to be MOT'd, insured and VED paid so that potential buyers can at least legally test drive it, so factor the costs into the possible value.

You may get lucky that someone wants it without MOT but doubt you will get much for it.
    • As stated above, to get any sort of decent money it HAS to be tested first. Whether that investment is worthwhile depends on the condition of the vehicle and what the vehicle costs to run and insure and potential full market value.

A 12 year old automatic with no MOT is only worth scrap money I'm afraid. If you simply want rid, advertise it locally as spares/repairs and someone will come and collect it from you with either a recovery truck or trailer, which would negate the need for a test drive illegally, but you will not get a lot for it in my opinion.

      thanks..
    • Your questions have been answered.
If you are still struggling, might be best to just get 'minimal' from WBAC or similar.
      Good luck

Car could be worth as little as £600 with MOT given the market for such a car.

      1. Advertise the car on ebay , Gumtree for spares or repairs with no MOT get minimal money but potentially a lot of timewasters.

      2. Sell car for scrap 50-150 simple no hassle.

      3. MOT Car, still have the hassle of selling but you may get more money but that may not cover your costs.

      4. WEBUYANYCAR - Not sure they will bother with a car with No MOT as you have to get it to them ?

Be aware that as soon as you put a car in for MOT it will be shown online and may put potential buyers off as they will then have a list of faults if many. I should also add that you should look at the MOT history to see how it looks to the potential buyers IE losts of advisories never fixed.

Only you know what your appetite is for spending money / dealing hassle with the risk of not getting it back.

BTW The ad was a similar car with MOT with Dealer Warranty, to me there is not enough likely gain to bother getting an MOT on it.

Basically no one wants an old automatic Vectra scrapper.

If it's a liability you want rid of without costing you anything, list it on Gumtree for £100 and it will be gone.
