I have an existing balance @ 3.9% on the card.
Assuming I now make a purchase on the card, would I still qualify for the interest-free period until payment?
OR should I pay the purchase off as soon as it appears online ?

No. You would need to clear the entire balance in full.
You'll be charged interest on the purchase until cleared. If you have another card, use that. If not, pay it as soon as it appears on your statement - not as soon as it appears 'online'.0 -
So, I'd have to wait until the statement was available rather than it appearing on the online list of transactions?
Would I be charged interest from the date of the transaction ?0 -
Yes and yes.0
