Wasn't in the best of moods over the weekend. Have sternly talked to myself about doing things, especially for people who really don't appreciate it, and I'm stopping.
All this talk of Scotland makes me want to go on hoilday. I went to Edinburgh a few years ago, loved it, so pretty and loads to do. I like the idea of staying somewhere a bit wilder and woolier but whether I'd actually like it is another thing.Won't know till I try though will I?
Today involves sitting on the sofa and tryign to fill in the many forms I've been sent and the appointments I have to acknowledge and book.
There is a piece of pork out of the freezer so that'll be cooked with some wine and stock cube and onions slowly...Let's hope it tastes ok...:)

Have fun today Nelski, and Sperky, hope the new job starts well. Jackie, yes, take your time, do less!! Glad to hear your better Gers, another, do less!! Casarina, will file that away for future use in case, never heard of that cure before :)
Hope you all have a start to the week that is good for you...

    Morning all,
It was very clear out earlier when I took Ly1a out at 8 ,but it seems to be clouding over now.I need the usual big tidy after the weekend and there is a great mound of clean washing to sort. I'm not going out anywhere today so will get that done, then some more sewing.I need to msg DB to say there is a present for their new DGD if he wants to call.
Sorry to see more people feeling unwell,so get well soon to Csarina,Gers and Jackie, and hugs to the others with more long standing illness.
Nelski there are cafes still at the Lower Barn and the top barn where the car park is,and the path leading up to the top.The terraced gardens are undergoing an extensive renovation by the heritage trust at the moment, theyre doing great work.If you search on FB for Rivington Terraced Gardens, you'll see some great photos of the work being done :)
I've got some chicken breasts for tea,in a ginger, chilli and lime marinade from our lovely butchers. I need another brew before I tackle the laundry pile :rotfl:Hope its a good day for you all xx

Taff, its not a cure but neutralises the urine so it does not sting.......I still have to take a sample and get it tested. If you look up UTI's on'tinternet its one of the things it tells you can be done to help in the short term. I have rung for an appointment. I also need to check if they have done anything about my scan. Had my appointment come through for my eye, the end of this month at our local hospital.

Its quite chilly out, the washing is on the line, hopefully it will dry, there is a slight breeze. OH is out shovelling top soil around one of the veg beds thats left. Will be calling him in shortly for his morning tea.

  • Afternoon, I've just sat down for soup and popped on here:) Sounds like a soggy start for most.

Having meal planned, thought I should also remember to get all the bits from the freezer last night so there will be a lovely pork roast on tomorrow. Today thou I have just chopped up various everything into a casserole which I will remember to pop it on in a mo. I like this time of year for the house smelling comforting.

I’ve made a start on de cluttering the office this morning. Also on todays list is turning the blackberry liquid into jelly and the leftover bit into leathers in the dehydrator, but before that another cuppa.
  • Hi Chums book club was lovely as usual and we all brought a few nibbles in and had a small spread of HM scones clotted cream and HM Jam with cheese scones for those who prefer savoury. They are such a nice bunch of people from all walks of life and colours and creeds yet we all get along really wel together One lady has just returned from a trip to Israel and was telling us all about her adventures there, some a bit hair-raising but one made us all laugh, apparently whilst there she went up to the Golan Heights to see an ex UN bunker there and next door is a coffee shop called Kofi Annan :) a bit of humour in the most unlikely place.

I went home and had a light lunch and am now at DD's awaiting the boys coming in from school with my feet up relaxing, even the two dogs are snoring :):)

Hope Speky has a great day at his new job and finds lots of nice people to chat to so he won't feel homesick

Right I am just going to listen to a bit of catch-up on my lap-top I am a Steve Allen fan who does an early morning programme on LBC and I love his dry wit

    Take care everyone

    Afternoon all
Didn't manage to get on yesterday as had the DGC here ( and Dad ) while DD and Mr Fix It went car shopping. She's chosen one but can't decide whether to have a red one or a yellow one ! However by the time everyone went home, I just collapsed in a heap and I'm sorry but I had no energy to post :o.
On the plus side I slept like a log, but I was dreaming sagas again .

Anyway, today we have been to town to the bank and pick up some bits and bobs, but it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be.... thank goodness :D
We called in Aldi on the way home and I ended up helping a gentleman in distress. His daughter had told him to pick up some things and he hadn't a clue where anything was. He wasn't elderly either, probably younger than me :rotfl:. So that's my good deed for today :A.
I feel a bit discombobulated today so if my post makes little sense then it's me, not you :rotfl:. I have already opened a wrong box for lunch, thought it contained cheese crackers, no it was a lemon swiss roll . Now I am going to sort out the dining room, put the tablecloth in the wash :D ( DGS decided to pebble dash it with gravy, he's a lefty and so awkward with cutlery! ) and put the table back to it's day to day size, but for that I need Mr Fix It to help me as it weighs a ton. That's something positive to be said about modern lightweight furniture I suppose

Tea tonight will be lasagne with a pesto, tomato and mozzarella flat bread ( apologies not Hm :() If pudding is needed there is some crumble left.
Right better get off my derriere and do something :D

    PurpleKitten Hi

I hope all the poorlies get well soon. Sending many hugs to anyone who needs or wants one. Take care those who have to go to work.

Redruby - is it odd that the church was locked on Remberance Sunday?

    .

It was open for a service in the morning and we thought we had timed it right to get there for when it ended but they must have hot footed it out afterwards, we then heard the bells ringing In the evening, but I had had wine by then and thought the vicar might not approve of me turning up smelling of wine :o

Love to you and your mum xx

Ollie I have looked on the website but no luck I will go back at the weekend and try again we live in a tiny village and its only just up the road xx
  • Aw OL: I hope Blackun recovers a tad and feels better in the morning, here's hoping.
