Stair runner to resist moths

We have just had our stairs sanded and finished with a light brown stain and they look very nice. We want to run a plain hardwearing runner up the centre, not fitted but attached with rods. We have ruled out 100% wool because we are currently tackling a moth infestation in our living room carpet and do not want to offer the moths a further tasty habitat. Anyone got any suggestions on what to fit? Probably prefer something narrow, to show off our newly varnished stairs, which are around 34inches wide.

Why not wait until you have dealt with the moth infestation and then get whatever stair runner you want.0

We have major plans to renovate the living room and carpets but not until next spring when we have saved enough money. Would like some stair carpet in the meantime.0

Treat the (presumably) case bearing carpet moths anyway - its not difficult, there are several theads on here with advice.
I cant recommend a stair runner but the moths will eat anything with a wool mix if they feel like it. However they tend to congregate along edges and under furniture, so already your runner is at less risk.0 -
Unfortunately my neighbourhood seems to have a plague of them this year. I met a friend the other day who lives about 400 yards away and she said they had attacked her stair carpet. So I am reluctant to buy anything with a high wool content just now.0

If the moths are endemic in the area, it might be better to give up on wool altogether and go for the better synthetics now.
As someone who's had the moths, I know which I'd choose. Replaced the wool carpets with LVT + synthetic rugs. The living areas don't just feel cleaner; they are.0
