Thanks LL, your outfit sounds very chic
My Champagne moment yesterday was going to the Open Mic night Blackfriars Vocal. My short story 'Coming Hone' was very well received.
It was a very warm evening, so I wore my Papaya white cotton skirt with a sleeveless white top with ribbon trim under the bust line with my white leather wedge heel Van Dal Sandals. I was carrying my red leather Osprey handbag. I layered my perfume with the matching body powder.0 -
Good morning......
My champagne moments yesterday......meeting family for lunch and eating al fresco at the restaurant. Then back to my sons house for "sobre Mesa" in his newly landscaped garden (not finished yet but looking nice).
"Sobre Mesa" translates as "after the table" - a time for sitting drinking coffe, wine, nibbling fruit and chocolate and enjoying good conversation. A long time for a toddler to sit still in a restaurant so we transferred to my sons garden.
Another champagne moment was popping into a chazzer near the restaurant and finding a nice black leather handbag for £5. Bargain. I have been hunting for a while..
Going to stay out of the sun today, it will be too fierce for me. Just going to get the paint roller out and finish the back bedroom, then take it easy.
Casino tonight although if it is as hot as they forecast I might just pass on that one. I'll make my mind up later.0 -
Thank you for the welcome sugarbaby, I have posted a few times on here but although I try to keep up I don't often manage to post. I love hearing about your outfits, and your karaoke nights. Hello KMare. I have read some of your posts on the "growing your own" thread where, as a first time allotment holder, I am not so much a lurker as a disciple.
My champagne moment today was being out with my grandchildren and getting a glimpse of the world through their eyes. I've also signed up to the MCS campaign to use less plastic next month. Not much in the grand scheme of things but trying to doing my bit to help the environment.Grocery challenge 2025: £402/1500 annual budget0 -
Good morning everyone.
As suspected I decided against the casino last night....just too hot for me. Thankfully it's cooler today.
Up with the larks this morning and I have already blasted the second coat of emulsion in the second bedroom. Not exactly a champagne moment but certainly a glow of satisfaction.
All part of my master plan for turning the money pit into a stylish and elegant home, on a tiny tiny budget.
I sometimes think I'm a bit long in the tooth now for doing house renovations because I do find it exhausting and I really have to push myself at times. Still the more I can do myself the better I can control the budget and streeeeetch those pennies. So I do what I can. I just have to pace myself.
Breakfast next then need to do a massive clean up. I doubt I shall be going out today. I'll just rest and potter about. Need to rest my poor aching shoulder.;).
Ancientmum. I know what you mean about seeing the world again through a child's eyes. We are so lucky we get to see all the wonder and magic again, third time round.. Just something as simple as taking a walk, watching their wonder and astonishment at feeling the wind on their faces, seeing their excitement and joy as they drink in all the sights, sounds and sensations.
My grandson has just started walking unaided this week.....his proud joyous face at his achievement is a picture. He is so excited and pleased with himself. Hopefully he might wear himself out and his poor shattered parents can finally get a decent night's sleep. :rotfl:0 -
My Champagne moments yesterday were all part of the celebration for my son's 19th birthday in Pizza Express Herne Hill.
We all had a real fun time, talking to each other, laughing together, eating great quality food and drinking very cold and refreshing drinks. No one was drinking alcohol as they found the non alcoholic drinks were more effective at quenching their thirst.:j
My son took his bag of birthday presents and cards to Pizza Express and opened them there surrounded by family. I photographed him opening them and also him blowing out his candles on a Tesco Finest Victoria sponge.
There were only 7 of us celebrating as my oldest granddaughter and my younger daughter were unable to come to Pizza Express.
The food part of the bill came to £137. 75, so I used £140 of my Tesco Clubcard Pizza Express vouchers to pay for the food. The drinks part of the bill was £33.40 and I used 2 x £20 Pizza Express Gift cards that I bought over a year ago to pay for the drinks, they were left over after his 18th birthday celebration meal in Pizza Express last year.:T
It was 34 degrees here in London yesterday, so I wore my Papaya red with white spots vest top with adjustable straps and concealed support, my Laura Ashley white cotton skirt, with my White leather Van Dal wedge sandals, my Ralph Lauren Polo brown sunglasses and carrying my red leather Osprey handbag. I was covered in 50 Factor sun lotion including my face. I wore perfume and layered it with the matching body powder. I wore solid gold jewellery with my gold plated Tissot watch.0 -
Last day of school for dds today, only a half day. Dd1 has her birthday tomorrow, so we baked a green cake and a chocolate cake yesterday, and put the fondant (royal icing? The moldable one) lettering on early this morning, when it was still cool. Much cheaper and more fun than just buying something.
She has her birthday party tonight: pizzas (shopbought frozen - I have discount vouchers), candy cake (still to make), watch a film (Penelope, 50 cents from library sale), camping outside in our tent in the garden, breakfast will be A1di croissants and pain au chocolat from frozen. Dd1 invited 8 friends, but only 5 could make it, which is just the right number to fit in our tent
The birthday treats and party have cost us just €35, which to me is extremely good. The cakes for the treat served 25 classmates, the party was with six friends.
The tent is still up, and we as a family have slept in in the last two nightsit really feels like a holiday! It will stay up for at least one more night, and dds will sleep in it without us. We are going on vacation this Friday and will have a lot of driving to do, so need to be well-rested. (Friday -to my parents', 4 hours; Saturday - to friend's bday party, 3 x 1 hour; Sunday - to Munich, 9 hours, breaks and traffic jams not included).

My champagne moment today was stepping on the scales and realising I have now lost 4 and a half stone in two years.:A
I feel very motivated to get the last half stone off this month.sugarbaby125 wrote: »

Good morning everyone.....
Wide awake, it's rather nice to be awake this early, enjoying a quiet cuppa before I decide whether to get up or not......although I will probably need a nap later.
Siebre Giad you enjoyed the camp out. I'm looking forward to doing that with my grandson when he's old enough. Hope you have a lovely holiday.
Wednesday.....4.1/2 stones. Wow!!! Well done.:T:T.
Champagne moments yesterday.........taking my grandson to playgroup, eating some bread and jam whilst there - haven't had a slice of bread and jam in years. :rotfl:
And the satisfaction of finally clearing a pile of paperwork. I had been putting it off for weeks. It felt so good to finally get it all done, like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders.
Not sure what the day will bring .....the joy of being retired. I get to decide my day.0
